My Fav Firefox Add-ons
My preferred browser of choice is still Firefox. I occasionally use Google’s Chrome, but I always go back to Firefox because I feel it’s safer and way more customizable. One of the reasons Firefox is so customizable, is it’s array of fun and useful add-ons (plug-ins). Over the years, I’ve tried an assortment, and I wanted to post about my favorites here today. These are the Firefox add-ons that have proved themselves to me to be the most useful.. the ones that always download first if I do a fresh install, and the ones I always end up missing while I’m playing with Chrome. I’ll include a brief description of the add-on here and they can all be found at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
IE Tab – This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your web page displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox.
Colorful Tabs – Colors every tab in a different color and makes them easy to distinguish.
Talon – Take screen shots and edit images directly from your browser with Aviary.com applications.
ColorZilla – Advanced Eyedropper, ColorPicker, Page Zoomer and other colorful goodies.
MeasureIt – Draw out a ruler to get the pixel width and height of any elements on a webpage.
Xmarks – Install it on all your computers to keep your bookmarks and (optionally) passwords backed up and synchronized.
I use more, but like I said; these are my favs.. my must haves. If some of them are new to you, try them out and see how you like them. They may become your favorite too.
