Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass..
It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Dance Your Dreams!
I read an interesting little anecdote today that got me thinking about perseverance.
There’s a particular tribe of Indians who are renowned for their rain-making abilities. In fact, this tribe can boast a 100% success rate. When asked the secret of this phenomenal success they replied ‘we just keep dancing until it rains!’
It’s such a simple formula that most of us overlook it!
If you keep doing what you believe will deliver the results you’re after until the results you’re after arrive, you are guaranteed success!
Obviously, it is necessary to apply some intelligence to the recipe and make adjustments as you go along until you get it just right and adopt the attitude that there is no such thing as failure, only feedback – just as Albert Einstein and all other great inventors did!
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again – but use what you learn from each unsuccessful attempt to create a better plan of action!
To ‘keep dancing until it rains’ means to persist until you get a result. However, it doesn’t mean you have to keep doing the same dance all the time!
In fact, if you’re waltzing and there’s no sign of rain, try a two-step. And if that doesn’t work, do some jiving, or the twist. or the monster mash or riverdance or whatever it takes to achieve the required result.
While the actual dance – as in physically doing something to move you towards your goal – is of vital importance, it is equally important to ‘tune in’ to the rhythm you need to use to get you there.
So, as well as the doing the practical part – in this analogy, the dance – there must also be an intuitive element.
If you insist on dancing in 3/4 time when the music is in 2/2, you’re always going to be out of step. Therefore, it is essential that every now and then on the path towards your goal, you stop and make certain you’re dancing to the correct beat!
Of course, this means being willing to occasionally admit that you’re out of step and adjust your rhythm accordingly; which is really good for keeping your ego in check!
It’s this subtle combination of action and intuition that ultimately leads to success.
So, here’s a challenge: if there’s a project or a goal that seems illusive to you, stop working towards it and ‘tune in’ to the rhythm. Really listen for the unique beat and begin to move in harmony with it.When you’re dancing in step with your dreams, nothing can stop you!

This is excellent advice, Karlyn. So many times we stop short of our goal when all we really need to do is re-align ourselves with it. Sometimes it’s as easy as just stepping away for a little bit to get a better perspective. Sometimes it requires a whole new approach. It never, however, involves quitting.
