I am really liking the sound of Sarah Fimm. I saw her video (below) on YouTube and enjoyed it enough to seek more tunes and info about this artist. She has an album – Near Infinite Possibility- coming out soon (May 5th, 2011), that I think will be a big hit! Until then, there is music and video to enjoy on her site – http://www.sarahfimm.com. She’s also on Facebook and YouTube for you to fan and get links to more places to listen in on the band. You are in for a treat if you check it out! You will especially not want to miss the official music video of “Yellow” and a couple of others that have become some of my personal favorites like “White Birds” and “Flames”.

Sarah Fimm is an alternative rock singer/songwriter and composer who has worked with some Classic Rock legends, including Earl Slick, who toured with Bowie in the 70′s and 80′s and is featured on the upcoming album release, Near Infinite Possibility. She has also lent her vocals to two Iggy Pop tracks.

Every year, about this time, I look forward to the special, spooky shows that are scheduled on various cable stations. Viewing favorite classic horror movies from the 60′s, silly vampire flicks from the 80′s or animated Halloween favorites for the family is part of my personal Halloween tradition. Apparently, I’m not alone too. There’s a wider variety of cable programing devoted to Halloween classics now than every before. Many prime time TV series’ get into the spirit by dressing up the week before too! My daughter – Kat – has been creating and editing films for a couple of years now. She really enjoys it and wants to make it her career. I’m one of her biggest fans of course! Yes, you’re typical mom probably, but honestly; I look forward to seeing where this takes her and hope her dreams of a career doing this come to light. I think it’s so important in life to be able to love your work! I love what I do and I hope my kids can say that 5, 10 and 20 years from now too!

Kat recently began a series called “What would you do?”. The series has a trailer and two episodes so far. I’ve included the trailer for episode 2 below. It’s kind of scary, so be warned! :) Currently, she’s wrapping up the editing work on the full version of Episode 1 about a Killer Bear. It’s eerie and a bit funny all at the same time and I love the bloopers added at the end. I will post that when it comes available. I wasn’t sure what to expect on the set of The Closer, but it was really so much fun! My family and I had such a blast meeting Greg LaVoi, who played host that day, showing us around the set at Raleigh Studios, introducing us to cast, crew, his adorable “Stella” cutie and his beautiful vintage Irene collection. Above is a photo they took at the studio for us (L-R: My husband, myself, my daughter, Kyra Sedgwick and my son). Aside from the picture taking, Kyra, who plays “Brenda” on The Closer, took a few moments between takes to stop and talk to each of us. She is so sweet. She asked the ages of my two kids (21 & 18) and what they’re plans were (college). It turns out, she has two kids (boy/girl) the exact same ages as mine. That’s pretty cool. Greg told us that hubby Kevin and the kids are in town visiting Kyra (NY is home) but they weren’t at the studio at the time. We enjoyed meeting some of the other cast and watching them film. That’s a first for me and it was so interesting!

I was reviewing my Amazon purchases going back almost 10 years. The collection is quite eclectic. No surprise there! I reviewed my purchases of assorted CD’s, DVD’s and Books, reminisced and attempted to conjure up the “Ah Ha!” moment I had when finding each special item. Over the years; some purchases were gifts, but the majority of the purchases were made for moi. I haven’t purchased too much though. My “collection” currently consists of 46 items, since January 2001. That’s not too much. I am on a budget after all. That’s one of the reasons why I look to Amazon when I need something. I can usually find it cheap. =)

Probably the item that’s seen the most use since it’s purchase is my David gray music purchase. A few of my purchases I’ve completely forgot about and ended up lost somehow, somewhere. A few items have found there way to the $1 section of past garage sales too. Oh well, that’s the typical life cycle of Books,CD’s,and DVD’s.The strongest remain.
